Come and See!

Luke 1:43-51

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me."  Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.  Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth.”  Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”  When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he said of him, “Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!”  Nathanael asked him, “Where did you get to know me?” Jesus answered, “I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you."  Nathanael replied, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”  Jesus answered, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.”   And he said to him, “Very truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

Welcome to Celebration Lutheran Church!  On Sunday, February 4, 2018, we began a new journey as a congregation.  Although this congregation has been established since 1987 and done incredible work, we felt it was time to take a new direction.  In other words,  we decided to redevelop our existing church.   There are many uncertainties, doubts and questions that come with this new direction.   We don't know where this journey will take us, or what people we will meet, or even what experiences we will encounter.  Where God will take us, we don't know.  How we will manage, we aren't sure.

But, what we do know is that God is with us.  With God, anything and everything is possible.  There are endless possibilities to what God will do through this church.  That's what comes with all the unknowns; what comes is faith, hope and resurrection.  Regardless of what happens, we are ready!  We are ready for how God will use us to share the love of Jesus Christ.

As they say in commercials, "But, wait there's more!"  Here comes the best part... All are invited and included in this congregation.  Join us on this new adventure and see where God will lead us.  Don't believe me... Just come and see!  Come and see where we have been, where we are and where we are going.  Come and see where God's been with you, how God is with you and where God is leading you.  Come and see how God will send us to do God's work.

Just come and see for yourself!  Come and see what God has given you to work with.  Bring your talents, gifts and passion.  Bring your experience, inexperience and hope.  Bring your questions, your skepticism and your doubts.  Most importantly, bring yourself, because God has already been working in you.  Just come and see where God is directing us because we will see greater things that God will do!
